The Maternity Center at Union Hospital is designed for the needs of mothers and their babies with a warm, family-centered environment. From prenatal education to the time the new family goes home, the staff of the Maternity Center is committed to making childbirth a rewarding experience for you and your family, including:

- Knowledge and experience to manage routine and high-risk pregnancies

Union Hospital’s Maternity Center can help you and your baby get the best start possible. We offer a variety of services both before and after your baby arrives:
Orientation Tours
Expectant families are welcome to tour our Maternity Center and talk to our staff planning their childbirth. For a personal tour and to discuss your desired birth experience, call 330.364.0853.
Childbirth Education Classes
Couples who will be delivering their baby at Union Hospital are eligible to take part in our free Childbirth Education Class. The class meets on a Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and helps first-time parents know what to expect before, during and after the birth of their baby. Our experienced maternity nurses help parents learn more about the labor process and their anesthesia options. Lamaze breathing techniques are introduced and practiced. The class also teaches care of the newborn and postpartum care of mother. The session concludes with a tour of the Maternity Center. Lactation Consultation
The Lactation Office provides education and support for breastfeeding mothers while they are in the hospital and on an outpatient basis.
