Emergencies are never planned. When they do happen, patients in the Tuscarawas Valley can rely on Union Hospital’s Lauren Emergency Center 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

What to Expect

Emergency care begins the moment you come through the door and are greeted by a Registered Nurse for initial evaluation. Following this triage process, your treatment plan is fast-tracked to the attention of a skilled staff of certified emergency medicine professionals including emergency residency-trained physicians.

A Certified Primary Stroke Center

Achieving the status of a Certified Primary Stroke Center means Union Hospital has the right equipment, personnel, and training to quickly assess and treat strokes. Through the Telestroke Network, stroke specialists from Cleveland Clinic are available within minutes at the patient's bedside with live video and audio communication with the patient, doctors, and nurses at Union Hospital.

To improve the chance of survival and limit permanent disability, act FAST and call 9-1-1 at the first sign of stroke symptoms.
